'MEETING A VOICE YOU JUST CAN'T ARGUE WITH'
Is how Juliet Turner describes Brian in a recent RTE Magazine interview. She has met two important people in my life her Manager and B.K..........

"One night I was signing autographs at a gig and I looked down at the queue and there standing at the end was BK! I couldn't wait to meet him because like any college student I loved his voice and played his music all the time. We got chatting and became friends. Then next time I saw him in concert, I was standing at the back of the venue and he looked down and said "Is that Juliet Turner?" I didn't know what to do! It was a dream, my favourite artist on stage, half of me wanted to go "oh my God it's Brian Kennedy" and the other half of me wanted to disappear. He asked me that night if I would like to do a song, and I did. It was I hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You. I learned so much from him, he did a lot to promote me, he invited me on stage that night, and last but not least, he has a voice you just can't argue with, how lucky am I"

EASTER BONNET CONCERT NEWS FROM NEW YORK

Broadway and off Broadway shows raise money all year long to help raise money to help people in the theatrical community in New York with HIV and/or AIDS. This year Broadway raised over $2 million! and Brian represented 'Riverdance' at the 14th annual Broadway Easter Bonnet competition & concert which benefits the 'Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids' Charity. Almost every show on Broadway designs and presents their Bonnet and then a short musical piece. Since most of the show presentations at this event are spoofs, Brian and a few other Riverdance associates rewrote the lyrics to 'Danny Boy' which Brian performed unaccompanied whilst wearing the hat (I'm trying my best to get a photo of this!), and right at the end he gets interrupted by one of the dancers in the cast.

The report back is that it went down brilliantly and Brian was a huge success. Brian had to stop many times during the song while the audience howled, he was a big hit. Over the Easter weekend Brian shared the bill with the likes of Petula Clark, Johnny Mathis, Kelsey Grammer (better known as Frasier), Eartha Kitt and Heather Headly who is the star of Elton John's AIDA and Gabriel Byrne was also one of the presenters. The show was filmed and it has already appeared briefly on Channel Two. Let us know if you manage to spot it.

AN ARLENE'S GROCERY UP-DATE
Below is an web exclusive quote from Shane the owner of Arlene's Grocery on Brian's gig there on Sunday 16th April:
"Brilliant! Fantastic! He played for about an hour and a half, no set list, totally ad lib. He sang some well known and some more obscure songs, but his interaction with the audience was very, very good. Some of the audience knew him, some didn't, and he took requests. Everyone would have stayed longer to listen".

A further report has just come through that Brian had a wonderful time at Arlene's Grocery. Fans were requesting songs like 'Is It Loud Enough' from Brian's first record, which he dutifully performed. He sang for about an hour and a half and even put some new songs in for the craic. Sound like we missed a fabulous night!

Homestead - Food For Thought
Oh were going back in time to the 90s. I have only just found out that Brian contributed a recipe in a celebrity cookbook published in 1997 and the proceeds that were raised went to The Friends of St Luke.
Brian's creation was for Hummus and here is what he had to say about it - "Flick through the latest edition of 'Hello' magazine whilst devouring this delightfully simple snack or alternatively gossip wildly on the phone between mouthfuls - delicious!!!"

"Callous Thieves Almost Scupper Brian Kennedy New Years Eve Celebrations"

Here is some inside exclusive news!!:
After the tour finished in Derry on Dec 23rd the truck travelled back to Dublin. The next morning a very nervous truck driver reported that his truck had been broken into after he arrived in Dublin that morning. All of Brian's guitars and his bazouki HAD BEEN STOLEN!!

How on earth was Brian supposed to do five shows on Dec 31st with no guitars?? Well thank goodness there is a happy ending to this story. After much panic and searching a phone call came through on Boxing Day to say that the guitars had turned up at a party in Sarah O'Flaherty's house (presenter of The Pepsi Chart Show on TV3) on Christmas Day. It appears that a friend of her brother had been in a pub on Christmas Eve and overheard some lowlifes trying to sell the guitars for £100 (their collective value would probably be closer to £12,000!!). He figured that if he bought them Sarah would know someone connected to Brian and be able to give them back - good thinking eh? So there you go, thanks to this mysterious friend Brian got his guitars back and the New Years Eve gigs were saved!!

Set Lists from Brian's New Year's Day Concert in Dublin's Merrion Square:

Now That I Know What I Want, A Better Man, These Days (with Ronan Keating), For One Kiss, Captured/Wild Mountain Thyme, Crazy Love/Have I Told You Lately/Sexual Healing/Let's Go Outside/You Send Me, Put The Message In The Box & Life Love & Happiness.

Brian appeared again with Donal Lunny & Guests for a live tv link up and sang Life, Love & Happiness.
