Tillyard, Leicester......
What can I say? A simply magnificent evening
for all acoustic music buffs and Brian fans. A perfect
evening and although it was 6/6/6 Brian was the best
omen Leicester could have wished for.
We
were treated to a wonderful acoustic session by the
talented Don Mescall, that man needs more media coverage
and record sales! A cross between Paul Simon and David
Gray.
Brian did not disappoint, not only did he take
time out of a very hectic schedule to speak to me giving
an interview for the Leicester Mercury, but he
also met me back stage to sign CD's and have his photo
taken - You are a star and a gent Brian!
A great set to an eager Leicester
audience, all my favourites including 'Carrickfergus'
a superb Van Morrison medley, many tracks from his new
excellent album Homebird and a tear jerking Acappella
'You Raise Me Up' to round the show off. It was
one of the fastest 2 hours of my life! Having followed
Brian's career for nearly 16 years I think he just
keeps getting better.
This show was a magical blend of great singing, fantastic
musicians and witty banter with the audience between
songs. I particularly loved the fun additional parts in
Killaloe! Some wicked references to Daniel..... Beddingfield
of course! and more sad but in this case ironic and
yet humorous songs added in for good measure.
The audience were happy to sing along and assisted
Brian with the do da do's on 'Walk on the Wild Side'.
My friend and I went home very happy ladies last night
and we can't wait for Brian and his band to return
to Leicester really soon.

I saw Brian at the De Montford Hall yesterday
he was fantastic. It was lovely hearing his new songs
as well as his old ones. I met him afterwards, I was
in the line for about 40 minutes but it was worth every
minute he was so nice and friendly and I had my photo
taken with him.
It
was my first time going to Leicester but it was worth
it. I hope to see him again soon. Love Pauline

tJust
wanted to let you know just how much I enjoyed Brian's
performance at Leicester. It was great to see him back
at the venue where I first 'discovered' him, supporting
Clannad. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance then too,
and have since seen him 5 times (but not Clannad again,
sorry!) Was that 10 years ago?
I love the Stables but it was good to see
a different style of set, in a larger venue. Great musicians
as ever. 'The Life of Brian' was a great way to get
things started! I love the new CD-Silver Hearts on Chains
is already a favourite. Thanks too, to Don Mescall.
I only heard the night before the concert that he wrote
the RonanKeating/Kate Rusby hit, so I had high hopes
of him and wasn't disappointed. Regards. Sue

Just a note to thank the Big Man for a great
show earlier this week in Leicester. Great mix of new
and old, along with the usual Irish banter! So many
artists these days just come on stage and sing with
no rapport with the audience. This is not something
that can be said of BK.
Love the new album, particularly the acoustic
disc. What a voice!

O Connor.......
Saw Brian last night in Leicester, absolutely
brilliant. Money well spent. Went with my 16 year old
son who is besotted with Brian's music. At the end Brian
spent so much time talking to people and made my lads
day when he had a photo taken with him. Not many people
would have spent so much time when they had to be in
Scotland the next day. We are in Ireland in July so
hope to make one of the Dublin dates. Come back soon
young Kennedy Leicester Loves you. Sheila.
