FANTASTIC NEWS!
Brian has qualified for the final of this year's Eurovision Song
Contest with his own composition 'Every Song Is A Cry For Love'.
He
has also made a piece of Eurovision history by being the 1000th act to
perform in the competition.
Thank you for all your reviews and good luck messages below!
Maria Cluxton & family, Portmarnock, Dublin.....
I was overwhelmed with happiness when I saw Brian perform on the
Song Contest recently. I have always been a huge admirer and I
think Brian has the most amazing voice- actually what I would
imagine an angel would sound like. The performance was perfect and
professional and represented Ireland so well. Brian, I am proud to
be your fellow countryman and you were the winner for all of my
family!!
Glen......
Well done Brian!!! Your performance last saturday at the Eurovision
was wonderful! You outshone all the other entries by far with your
pure natural talent... no gimmicks, just you and your voice and a
beautiful professional song delivered with sincerity and
emotion...brilliant Brian!
Looking forward to
seeing you on the 3rd of June at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall,
hoping that you might treat us to some new tracks from 'Homebird'?
Take good care of yourself you must be exhausted! see you sat! lots
of love Glen xxxx
Joanne......
Hi Brian, I just wanted to join the many people congratulating you
on your performance at the Eurovision. I had so many butterflies in
my stomach before you sang ...but they all just melted away as soon
as you delivered your first line...truly beautiful!! I was so proud
of you, you were amazing. Everything about your performance was
perfection and you looked gorgeous too!! The green stage lighting
really brought out the sparkling emerald green of your eyes and we
loved the cheeky little glance at the camera that you couldn't
resist!!!!!!!!!
There we were all full of nerves and there you were just enjoying
the moment and doing what you do ! Thank you Brian for another one
of those special unforgettable performances that you always manage
to deliver leaving us all spellbound! I cant wait to see you next
weekend in Manchester! You are such a special guy. The new CD sounds
amazing by the way! Cant wait to get my hands on it on monday! Its
always so exciting to listen to your new songs... to just sit and
melt into the lyrics and melodies and have them keep you company for
the weeks to come until they feel like old friends, just like your
other songs do!!! I think that's the best way I can describe a Brian
Kennedy song...an old friend that you meet up with for special
times! Congratulations again Brian and wishing you much success with
'Home bird'. Love always JOANNE XXXXX
Hayley
Moses.......
What an excellent performance. No I'm not from Ireland (fairly close
by!!) but Brian's was by far the best performance. Such a brilliant
song and so well presented. I hope this song is going to be
available soon to buy. It's next on my music list!!. Well done
Brian.
Pat Wallace.......
Congrats on your recent success. as an Irish man I am immensely
proud of Brian's success in the recent Eurovision song contest. At
the same time, I am deeply annoyed and frustrated at the system the
Eurovision bigwigs have adopted to use. This telephone voting system
is clearly a biased approach to what was always classed as one of
the fairest competitions in the world.
Anyway, enough of that. Congratulations again. I hope to see you
play some gigs in Limerick this summer and definitely in the
Eurovision next year. Thank you for a fantastic performance, the
Irish people are truly proud of you. Regards. Pat
Julia in Sydney,
Australia......
Looking back over the past couple of days and the outcome of the
Eurovision Song Contest, I couldn't help smiling today when I
realised that Brian was the winner, after all. His song is the only
one that I can't stop singing to myself, and I don't think I'm alone
in that. The Eurovision. was a great platform for millions of
people around the world to experience Brian's voice (and other
talents), and I bet his schedule is going to get livelier than ever
in the future. The rest of the world has had a taste of what real
music is all about. Thank you Brian, you've done the world a favour
and may well have started a retro trend back to beautiful songs with
a melody, sung professionally. We are all so proud of you!
Caroline K.,
Dublin........
Brian, Its such a shame about the frankly corrupt ESC voting system
that will ultimately destroy this great contest if its not reformed
urgently. Nevertheless we must accept the verdict of the populus
that a bunch of singing daleks are far more talented than the
greatest male vocalist in the world today. Brian we love you always
and we know who was the best last saturday night. The most talented,
the most beautiful, the most vocally gifted Irishman on the
planet...yeah you BK. Looking forward to the new CD and the Olympia
Concerts.
Angeline and Seamus Grant.....
Hi Brian, Just a note to say how very proud we were of you and
your performance on Saturday night! Definitely a professional was
needed to get Ireland back on track for the Eurovison without having
to go through the semi-finals. And you sure were that professional!
Our son and daughter-in-law Sinéad and Karl Grant met you in
Adelaide last year while you were on tour in Australia.....and they
were delighted to hear how well you had done for us in the
Eurovision. Congrats again Brian.......you were superb!
Bernie.......
Brian was the best there - he was absolutely brilliant!! The
Eurovision isn't really about singing with all that political voting
but if it was about singing Brian would have won hands down! Can't
wait to get Brian's new CD! Take care , Bernie
Pauline Boal......
Brian you were FAB. Well done. Regards.
Jacqueline Farrell - California.....
Brian, for someone who hasn't been home (to Ireland) in 30 months,
being able to watch you perform live via the web and representing
Ireland with such poise and grace made Ireland feel seconds away.
You won the world that night with a song of incredible beauty. I
haven't seen you in ages old friend, when are you playing San
Francisco?? Thank You Brian,
Daniel,
Germany.......
Hi Brian, this was awesome. Your song was one of the few songs in
the contest that would have deserved to win. A true classic ballad -
wonderful. Thank you for that bright and shiny piece of music in a
dark and dangerous contest :-).
Bernadette.....
Many thanks Brian for representing us in Eurovision this year. Your
performance of this lovely song was simply stunning...So heartfelt,
so professional, so beautiful. Regardless of the result, I knew I
was listening to someone who was just in a different class and I was
so proud that you were there singing your heart out for Ireland! The
fact that you got us through to the Finals next year was an added
bonus!!! You may not have won Eurovision, but you have certainly won
a lot of new fans-including me! Looking forward to the new album and
to the concert in the Olympia. All the best.
Beate & Norbert, Germany......
Just our congratulations to a great song and performance in Athens.
We voted for your song and were very disturbed about what was going
on that night. Guess we will never know :-) Still we just wanted to
let you know how much we liked your song.
Lots
of luck and very kind regards from Germany. Beate & Norbert
Sirkku,
Finland......
Thanks for the beautiful performance! As a proud Finn I'm happy to
see our guys win with their fantastic show. But any moment I'm ready
to admit that if there was to be another winner, it should have been
you. There is so many kind of music in the world - thank god for
that. Our guys and you are proving that there can be all kinds of
GOOD music too. I'll be following your career. Thanks!
Geraldine McCormack, Dublin
I just wanted to say that Brian really did us proud on Saturday
night, he looked and sounded brilliant and I couldn't imagine anyone
else doing a better job of it. Thanks!
Pauline Hall........
Just wanted to write a quick congratulations to Brian, I thought he
was brilliant, my sister and I love watching the Eurovision, makes
for a nice night. Never have we got so excited we were
shouting at the TV when we thought we still had a chance, Brian has
an amazing voice and that stood out over every other act. His
presence and vocals are second to none. Thanks for being there Brian
and good luck with everything you have planned. Regards.
Frances, Hobart,
Tasmania......
Dear Brian, Congratulations on a wonderful performance of a great
song to represent Ireland in Eurovision. The presentation of the
song by yourself and your crew stood out from the other performers
with class and style. Unfortunately being in Australia I
couldn't vote for you but we were waving our Irish flag in support
of your entry. Spent the day away from the Internet so didn't spoil
the watching of it.
Your participation meant for the first time in Eurovision history I
was split between my support for my Dad's country Malta and my love
of Irish music. As Paula said we hope you will come back to
Australia to tour very soon and include Tasmania this time. Best
wishes. Frances
Paula, Hobart,
Tasmania.......
Dia dhuit dear Brian, Congratulations for a great performance by
yourself, Calum, Una, Paula and Fran (great names!; ) at the
Eurovision Song Contest! Loved the full realisation including
the green lighting, the kneeling and the engagement with your
singers. You were the consumate performer as always! To second
Sheila and Glad's comments hope to see you in Tassie soon. lots of
gra. Paula
Eugene Chervonenko....
Just a quick email to say thank you to Brian for a great performance
at Eurovision and a new beautiful song. Unfortunately even if I
asked all my friends in Russia to vote for Brian (as living in
Ireland I could not vote myself) my country did not get many points
to him. But in spite of it it was a fantastic show and superb
singing as usual. Keep up a good job, guys! Kind Regards.
Tina, Slovenia.....
Hi, Brian, I bet you didn't know you have a fan in Slovenia... :) I
just wanted to say that you did a great job on Eurovision, your
voice is truly amazing... You should come to Slovenia once, you
wouldn't regret it.
Geoff Harris......
Please pass on our congrats to Brian on a job well done from all at
WLRfm, the radio station in Waterford. It was a moment of sanity in
the middle of all the hilarity, delighted for him!
Sharon.......
Just a quick email to let Brian know that we are all so proud of
him. He gave such a fantastic performance at Eurovision. Thanks
Brian for all your hard work.
Linnea Andersson, Sweden........
Dear Brian, you have the most beautiful voice and you sing do song
with such enjoyment. I did vote for you and I think you were the
best singer in Eurovision. I think you Irish are the best singers in
the world and have the must beautiful country. I know its true, I
was in Ireland in July and people are so nice there. Best wishes
love Linnea
Hauke
Schultz.......
"Every Song is a cry for love" was very best.
Elaine Pittaway......
Following on from my previous entry Sir Terry continued with his
praise and support of Brian on Friday's Wake Up to Wogan, and during
the day, when out and about, I heard Brian's name being mentioned on
Radio 1.
Due to the fact I had had a later than usual night after the semi
final - texting Mum and Sheila in Tasmania, sending another to
someone who did not have digital tv, + sending a few e-mails - then
being woken at 5.25 a.m. when the battery ran low in the smoke alarm
so there was a constant 'cheep.......cheep' until I had to get up to
remove the battery! - I omitted to mention THAT LOOK Brian threw
over his right shoulder when the camera came close by - I am sure it
doubled the number of votes.
I was not able to watch the programme live yesterday evening, but
thanks to Helen Baird's text I did not have to wait until I reached
home to hear the result, hard though it was to believe. Brian,
Calum, Fran, Paula and Una you may not have won the competition as
in coming first in the voting, but the song and your performance was
way ahead of all the others put together - and it was good to see
'THE LOOK' given again. Hope you have all had a great time in
Athens.
Maybe if Ireland was not an island..... it's surrounding countries
would give more votes, as that is the way the system seems to work,
but bearing this in mind 10th place was a very strong position to
finish in.
On the night Terry Wogan (again) was praiseworthy in his
commentary, and Ken Bruce on Radio 2 said, when introducing the
song, 'A fine, fine, singer and songwriter', 'A wonderful singer'
and then 'Wonderful Brian Kennedy for Ireland'. After the song he
said 'Beautiful voice', 'Best singer in the competition', 'Beautiful
song' and 'Very, very, good performance'. On Good Morning Sunday,
this morning, Aled Jones mentioned Brian no less then four times....
so I think it is safe to say he and the song had the support of the
BBC.
As Mum (aged 83) has thrown her cap into the ring and dictated
comments to Sheila to be put on this page (how could she not be
involved having two out of two daughters so keen on Brian's music) I
am wondering is she his most 'senior' admirer? Last but not least
mention of and thanks to Jane for running the website and setting up
this page to enable us all to add our comments and read what
everyone else has to say so soon after the event. Roll on June 3rd
in Manchester.
Gina Rae......
Hi Brian, What a great performance on Saturday, you did Ireland and
all us BK fans proud. At least there are now millions more out
there who now know how beautiful your voice is. Counting down to the
new album and 7th June at the Old Fruitmarket. Love Gina
Natalia,
Russia.......
I do not know English language. I and my mum looked competition the
Eurovision. When I have heard as you sing, I have understood that
you should win. But the policy has prevented to music. People chose
not, chose the countries. Each country voted for the friends. Not
for singers and songs. And as a result have chosen awful Finns. It
is insulting and it is not fair. Be not afflicted. For me you the
best. The very, very best. You the winner.
Evi Rousouneli,
Greece......
I want to give the warmest congratulations for the best song played
in our country Greece! We are very disappointed to not see you on
the top exactly where you belong! I hope you will come again in our
country because we loved you! Please keep being so wonderful - with
angels music. Many kisses
May-Louise,
Sweden......
Brian, you are simply the best! Your voice is shining all over the
world and right into my heart! Lots of love. May-Louise
Vicki,
Australia.....
I like to tune in to Eurovision every year, mainly to enjoy the
caustic commentary given by Terry Wogan. How does he know exactly
what I'm thinking? However this year I decided to really concentrate
on the songs and performances of all the contestants and try to view
them objectively. Some were quite good, some very ordinary and some
others I just didn't get the point.
Now hoping not to sound too biased, it would appear to me that
Ireland had the odds stacked against them from the start. Not being
overly familiar with the politics of the voting, I was quietly
confident that Ireland had an excellent chance of winning after
earning a place in the final. Considering the challenges they had I
think that Brian, the wonderful Calum and the backing singers did
admirably to make it to the final and achieve tenth position.
Classy, professional and effortless is how I would describe the
performance. Brian was easily the best singer at the competition and
we all know how brilliant he is at live performing. A beautiful
song delivered with heart and conviction, something we always
expect and receive from Brian. When you are that good there is no
need for skimpy costumes, a multitude of dancers, rubber suits or
cheap gimmicks to attract the audience attention. Ireland is No 1
for me and everyone associated should be very proud of what they
have achieved.
Xeli, Malta......
Hi Brian, pity I only discovered you yesterday thanks to the ESC.
However, better late than never :) Emmmm your song was GREAT,
GREAT, GREAT, and you were even GREATER!!!
Charlie & Steve (the oldies)......
Oh Brian! The whole
world
must surely know now how beautiful your voice is! Pure magic.
Charlie & Stevexx
Audrey Murphy......
Hi Brian, I was so impressed with your performance last night and
you did us really proud. I read on the Eurovision website that you
were the 1000 entry what and achievement not to mention the fact
that you got us through automatically to the grand final next year.
I can’t wait to see you in July and have a good oul chat about your
Grecian Eurovision experience and Roman Song (what a book!) Sagapo.
Audrey.xxx
Lavinia......
Hi Brian, I am from Romania. I saw your show last night at
Eurovision and I really fell in love with your song. I think it fits
perfectly to my way of seeing things in life. Thank you for
this gift.... your song! Best Wishes.
Anne-Laure
Kelly........
Congratulations Brian! I'm sure I'm not the only one who is
incredibly proud of your Eurovision performances, both on Thursday
and last night. You are a fantastic ambassador for Ireland, but also
for singers and songwriters everywhere. Thank you so much for
agreeing to represent us this year, and ignore the begrudgers. You
were brave and you were brilliant! Can't wait to get your new album
on Friday! Best Wishes, as always, Anne-Laure :)
Bani Sodermark.......
At long last we got to hear a real song, not a hodge podge of notes,
and no special effects. Your song is in the best of Irish tradition
and will be remembered long after the others are forgotten. I will
look for it in five years time when they start compiling the next
archive album, I am sure you will figure prominently, both for your
song and the message it conveys, that of being real.
Peter, Carmel and
Aoife Kearns, Somerville, Massachusetts........
Brian, you and your entourage did the Irish nation proud yesterday
in Athens!! We were able to watch live courtesy of a Portuguese
station here in Boston. What a great spectacle the event was!! First
time I have seen the Contest since I emigrated thirteen years ago
and it has changed a lot!!
A class performance from a man and group of class. We are so looking
forward to seeing you all on July 15th in Dublin when we go over on
holidays to celebrate my 50th on July 18th. Bye for now. Carmel
Magda, Poland.....
Hello Brian, you were just great last night. It was the most
beautiful song of the whole show, definitely the best performance.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Never mind the tenth place, your are the winner
for me! I could hear your voice long after the show was over, and
it's been with me the whole day today, it's impossible to forget it.
And the song is wonderful! Thank you! I wish you could come to
Poland one day so I could hear you sing live. I love Irish music,
especially the traditional one and you are my favourite singer :)
Best Wishes.
Romi
Gray......
Congratulations Brian on doing us proud last night. Unfortunate
about the way voting works with neighbours voting for themselves. I
thought the Irish entry deserved a better vote, especially when you
look at what won! I am still a fan.
Sara, Belgium,
Antwerp.......
Dear Brian, My name is Sara Colbrant, I live in Antwerp Belgium. I
love singing also and yesterday I saw you at Eurovision on
television. You're song is really so amazing! I can't get it out of
my mind! I really wished that you won the contest! You really were
so great! I hope that you will come to Belgium on one day... You are
really a great singer! Keep up the good spirit!! I hope hear or see
you soon (maybe in Belgium??) Sara
Hanns, Germany.....
Congratulations to you and your great band. Well done. I voted for
you and it has been - by far - the best song and performance
yesterday. Cant wait to hear your new CD. Best wishes from Berlin!
Pat Carey......
Hi Brian, Show was not available here In Dubai, so got the results
from RTE online. At the end of the day, The huge exposure on TV
across Europe can only benefit you. Come back to Dubai soon, and
next time bring a rhythm section. Thanks.
Sarah, West
Sussex, UK......
Hi Brian, Really sorry you didn't win last night, your song was by
far the best in the contest, and you did Ireland proud!
Congratulations on a great performance :o)
Sheila O'Connor &
family.......
Brian Kennedy did his country (and it's exiles) proud last night. We
were so disappointed with the voting as we feel he gave a truly
amazing performance. It is time a fair system of voting was
introduced to this contest that prevents "political" votes between
neighbouring countries. Songs should be voted for on merit. Sheila
Brian's performance was the best of the bunch and this is stated
without bias. Respect to you feel proud for your wonderful promotion
of your country and gaining qualification for Ireland next year.
Look forward to seeing you in Leicester in June God Bless Love
Sheila O'Connor and family
Marion.....
Well done
Brian. You were a fitting ambassador for Ireland and every
vote you got was for for your brilliant song, brilliant voice and
fantastic performance. Thank you for all the pleasure your voice and
your music have brought to so many over the years. God Bless
Marion.
Pat Keeley.......
Congrats to Brian on a brilliant performance last night. Don't
worry that you didn't win Brian, you are always a winner with us.
Looking forward to seeing you in the Olympia. Love you loads. Pat
and gang.
Nassim , Linz am
Rhein , Germany.........
Hi Brian, Here´s a message from your biggest fan in Germany. I
loved every minute of your performance... If there was any justice
in the world, you would have done it this time. The real music fans
all over Europe gave you points, disregarding politics or
neighbourhood affinities... So you see there are still people out
there with a sense for a good melody and appreciation for the most
beautiful song of the show I phoned as many times as I could, but it
didn't help. Head up Brian... Europe is now aware about you! I will
try to make it for the London gig in june! Until then I wish you all
the Best!
Alex......
Brian - congratulations on a great performance last night - you did
us proud! I first heard you play live at a gig at Queens
student union when you were supporting The Adventures. It must have
been 1987 (how old does that make me feel???!!) I have no idea
where they are now, but I've been following you ever since. Nearly
20 years later your voice still sounds as fresh and angelic as it
did then. Thank you for the music Brian.
Clare......
Well done Brian - you were brilliant and restored the country's
pride! Thanks to you all
Marie Coffey,
Dublin.......
WOW!! What a performance. The true professional on stage last night!
The emerald green lighting was stunning. God You did us proud!
Brian....YOU'RE A
WINNER.
Pete Scotney, Derby, UK.......
Well Done Brian....great performances in the semi final and last
night's Final....A respectable 10th position for Ireland to quiet
the naysayers....look forward to seeing you in Leicester next month.
Pete
Aida, Bosnia.......
Brian, you were wonderful...Congratulations for an outstanding
performance and the song that can be called - a song! In past few
years Eurovision Song Contest especially its voting part has become
more of a predictable comedy than a song contest.
I voted for you and your wonderful song, but in the end, it was from
being enough...Bosnia gave no points whatsoever to Ireland... What I
noticed however is that there actually were very few counties that
gave you no points. This tells a lot too, since you were not
receiving "a neighboring points" thus providing your final score!
Well done! All the best in your future endeavors.
Tracey Prideaux.......
Well
Done Brian! on last night's performance, you did Ireland proud.
Looking forward to the up and coming tour! With very best wishes.
Rita Veitch......
Hi Brian, Well
done on a fantastic performance. You are a winner in our eyes. By
far the best there. We're so proud of you. Looking forward to
seeing you in London.
Eileen,
Dublin........
Hi Brian, Congratulations on an outstanding performance tonight,
just so proud of how far you have taken us, and lifted us out of the
ordinary for the past few weeks! You have real class! Looking
forward hugely to the tour and dates at the Olympia. XXX
Julie O'Hara.......
Good morning Brian, wow your performance was just GREAT, you did
Ireland proud, so did Calum, Fran, Paula and Una. Thank`s to Jane
for keeping us up to date. Love Julie x
Maura & Sarah......
Congratulations Brian on your Eurovision performance, Every vote was
a vote on merit and music, not politics or gimmicks! We're proud of
you, as always! You're a star!
Julia
Bellamy & Family (Sydney, Australia).......
Obviously since we left the
UK in the '90's, someone's moved the goalposts and changed the
definitions of the words 'song' and 'contest'. Apparently the
concept now means 'create as much noise and bizarre effects as
possible, by throwing in everything, including the kitchen
sink!' (Granted, one or two were
momentarily fun to watch!) Okay - so it's all over! The
result may be different from expectations but we know there was only
one true winner, with the best voice in the business and a song that
reached the heart and soul. After all the hype, there is only one
song that has stuck in my mind, along with the
sound of one voice,
and the effect will
remain as a long-term piece of music,
when the others have long gone!
WELL DONE AND THANK YOU BRIAN - you did
brilliantly and we are proud of you!
Can't wait to see what you've got lined up for us next in this
exciting year! All the best from OZ!
Ulla in Sweden.........
Hi Brian...I just love
to hear you sing and I did vote for you, but it was not enough. I´m
sorry about that...but you still was the best and you will always be
number One for me. I´m just waiting for your new album to comes out.
Ik now you did your country very proud out there and that's all that
maters. Love from Ulla
Sheila and
Glad, Tasmania, Australia.......
Hello again from downunder,
downunder........no matter the voting... doesn't alter the fact that
it was a stellar performance by Brian and Friends.
Thought you might like to know what Glad my octogenarian Mum (see
earlier entry) had to say this morning about the voting: "I wasn't
surprised that Brian didn't win as people today don't appreciate
lovely music, sung by a person with a beautiful voice.........what
most people want is noise, jumpin' about everywhere and
bobbing boobs.... never mind about talent! And that's what I think!".
So, maybe now that the contest is over - thoughts might be turned to
a much anticipated visit to Tassie. S & G
Conny van den
Elshout, Oosterhout, Netherlands......
Hi Brian, Please excuse my country (Netherlands) for giving you
only 4 points. My son and I managed to vote 85 times for you, but it
was not enough. There was no limit on voting here. Tonight proved
that this way of voting is not fair, people just vote for their
neighbouring countries. I'm sure that if the points were given by a
jury, you would have won! I hope you are not too sad about it.
Please remember that for all of us, you are the best! Take some rest
before going on tour! Looking forward to seeing you in London!
Sonia Boylan Co. Down.....
I still love you Brian even though you didn't win!!! At
least you wont leave us and we can have you back all to our own!!
Cant wait till your album comes out!! You done the country proud and
that's all you can do!!
Laragh Cullen.....
So proud of you Brian. Its not your fault that they preferred a
smooth pebble to a diamond in the rough. You are always a winner to
us and we are so delighted that you represented us with such grace
and dignity. Thank you so much Brian.
Tina Hooper Grimsby......
Good luck Brian I've put a bet on for you to win. Hope you get the
result you deserve. Have a fantastic time also to Calum and all the
singers whom deserve the best too. Will be thinking of you all.
Tinaxxx
Kelly Hynes......
Best wishes for a wonderful time in Greece and the best of luck in
the competition! I'm here in Connecticut, USA rootin' for you Brian.
I'm sure throngs of Irish are doing the same in my neighbor state &
city of NYC! I miss his beautiful music..and cant wait till July in
Dublin! Kelly
Jacqueline
English.....
Hey Brian, put the rest
of Europe in the shade...And shine like you always do!!.. Go for
it!!!
Peter, Carmel and
Aoife Kearns.....
I am so happy to say I will be watching today via a Portuguese
channel here in Boston!!!!! Best of luck from the Kearns Clan
and we will see you on July 15th in Dublin!! Will be arriving in
Ireland on the 14th! What luck for us that we get to see you when we
are home!!! We are hoping for a win for you but we know that
win or not, you will do the country proud!! All the best.
Ralph, Cork......
Have a ball tonight! I've been texting all my UK friends all day
encouraging them to vote for BRIAN!!!! All the best. I
love the flirty look at the camera. I look forward to his next trip
to Cork. Ralph xxx
Audrey Murphy......
Hi Brian, I watched the Eurovision semi final on Thursday and was
soooooooo happy and excited that you got through. I have been
humming your song all day I just love it. I wish I could vote
for you. I saw all the pictures from Greece on your website it looks
like you’re having a whale of a time. Good Luck tonight (only four
and a half hours to go!). I will have my fingers crossed for you. I
read in the paper the other day that you are quietly confident that
you will win. Well, honey so am I ;-) Sagapo (I love you in Greek)
Audrey. Ps See you in July
Sheila & Glad - Tasmania, Australia.......
Just thought I would let you know that we are tuned in down here,
downunder, downunder. Heard the goss
via a text from sister Elaine in UK that Brian was through to the
final......brilliant. So last night (Friday here in OZ) Glad (our 83
year old Mum and committed BK fan) and I watched the semi final on
SBS. Whilst we did find some of the
performances somewhat 'energetic' to watch and felt quite exhausted
by the time Brian and friends performed - we were up cheering
afterwards. Oh.....that is what singing and performing is all about.
Hoping to be up early in the morning (Sunday) to tune in live
via the Eurovision website. Everything crossed for the final...... S
& G
Alison Deane.......
Wanted to pass on a Good Luck message to Brian. Have seen you in the
West County Hotel in Ennis a few times, great concerts!! Good Luck
tonight, very moving song, beautiful voice….hope you enjoy
tonight!!!
Pat Carey..........
Best of luck tonight. Regards from a Dub in Dubai.
Jackie Reeves.......
Fantastic that Brian has got through to the final - even if I missed
his performance! Will be there watching or listening if at all
possible this evening and definitely ready to vote.
Please could you pass on my congratulations to Brian and wish him
the very best of luck for tonight. We are behind him all the way and
will see him in Manchester whatever happens!
Jackie.
Gina Rae.......
Well done Brian, good Luck for Saturday. Will be glued to
Eurovision with everything crossed!!!. Love Gina
Julie OHara.......
Best of luck Brian, enjoy the evening. Will be voting
Ireland all the way. Take care. Love Julie x
Chris Kitchen......
Love the song, loved the performance! Voted with four phones!!!!
It's great living in UK so can vote for you Brian. Even the UK
entry, Daz, says you should win. Who am I to disagree? I'll be
watching and rooting for you again tonight.
Julia Bellamy (Sydney, Australia).......
How proud I felt of Brian at the semi finals which showed here
last night on SBS. All apprehension disappeared the moment he
appeared on stage, supported so magnificently by the steadfast Calum
and his backing singers.
What a bunch of real professionals! Amidst the rest of the hype and
theatrics and general razzamatazz, they stood out like the true
musicians they are. They took a beautiful melody, kept it simple and
delivered impressively. The best performance of the night!
Whatever else happens, Brian and his team have already done Ireland
and all the fans proud - and boosted the music industry - anything
else will be an incredible bonus! Your fans in Oz are with you
tonight Brian - just go on and do your thing - and keep that great
sense of humour!
Lexie Steve & Pete Sullivan......
Congrats Brian. Well Done. We're barracking for you here in Sydney.
We know you can do it. We have to wait an extra day to see you in
the finals.

in Dublin. Keep rocking! xoxo
Jacqueline Reid, Elgin.......
I just wanted to pass on a message for Brian to tell him that I wish
him the best of luck for tonight, not that I think he needs it, am
sure he will sail through and win. Claire also sends him her good
wishes. Best wishes. Jacqueline
Adrie.......
Dear Brian, All the best and good luck for the Eurovision final.
You have my vote!
Cathy.........
Brian, you are a true star! Pure class and outstanding quality in
the midst of all the strange sounds, bizarre costumes and Eurovision
gimmicks; your natural talent & professional presentation simply
stand out a mile. And your glorious voice, that crystal clear sound
that charms the angels, still captures me, even after all these
years. I send you lots and lots of love and all the luck in the
world for Saturday night. Cathy x
Conny van de Elshout, Oosterhout, Netherlands
Well done Brian!!! No matter what happens Saturday, you are our
winner ! I'll be voting as many times as is allowed with all the
phones I can find!
Helen and Frank, Bristol, England.......
Well done Brian! We were glued to the TV for you last night and so
excited when you got through. Your presentation of the song was
beautiful and it may yet surprise everyone in the final. At least
you and the song are 'normal' when pitched against the insanity of
Eurovision - Hopefully voters will remember that it's all meant to
be about the music as they seemed to at the semi-final..........
We'll see you at the last night in Dublin anyway -coming home
especially. Enjoy Athens whatever happens .........
Julie, Chris &
Caron.......
Best of Luck to Brian on Saturday, we cant wait to see him LIVE on
3rd June at Bridgwater Hall, Manchester xxx
Ramon Verdonk........
It was a fantastic

year, absolutely. Good luck! Cheers Ramon
Catherine Deith........

Can't wait until tomorrow night. It's going to be "edge of the
seat" stuff again just like last night.
Laura Whinney.......
I don't think I have seen anyone sing a song in the Eurovision with
such enjoyment! You could just ell Brian loved every single moment
of that! And then he topped it off if a Real Sexy pose straight at
the camera. You never cease to amaze us all Brian. What an
Achievement. All my love Laura xox
Sonia Boylan (16)
Co.Down .........

Please pass on my praise to Brian on his performance tonight, what a
fantastic singer, what a voice and what a song. He will of course go
through to the Eurovision on saturday of that I have no doubt. You
could not help but be moved every time you hear him sing......
Thank him again for the pleasure he gives each time he uses his
gift.... God Bless. Marion
Phyl Roycroft.......
Just seen your performance in Athens Brian and what a performance,
you were only brilliant. If you do not get to finals then no one
should. This Granny will definitely be buying your album, thanks for
magnificent performance. Phyl.
Eileen, Dublin........
Brian you were so wonderful, I cant tell you how proud you made me
feel tonight, of you, your powerful gift that overwhelms me with
emotion and wonder. Thank God for your shining honesty in this
world, and thank God for all the people you touch with your love and
who recognise it. "Every song is a cry for love" is an anthem
for strength and life, and a lifeline for those like me who
sometimes feel like leaving this world. I dreamed last week you won
this competition and I saw an unearthly flame around you, and the
purest note floating from you!!
I am so happy and proud to have ever met you and I am proud to be
Irish with you representing us today. Eileen xxx
Lillian Stewart, Edinburgh

John Frame, Brisbane, Australia........
I know I won't be
the only bloke in the world who shed tears of joy at the announcement
of Brian making the Eurovision final.
In March 2005 I spent an idyllic lunch here in Brisbane trying not to
drown in Brian Kennedy's eyes, while recording an interview for Queer
Radio regarding "The Arrival Of Fergal Flynn". But tonight I had no idea
that Brian was to be in Eurovision 2006 - I was letting the show run in
the background while I worked with the PC - when an angelic and familiar
voice quickly drew my attention.
I loved the way Brian worked his mic technique and stagecraft to
perfection - including the sexy, sly wink to a passing camera (or to
the camera operator).
"Every Song..." is a
fine piece and is beautifully presented - the whole team (and all Ireland)
should be right proud as we, his Australian fans, all are. Luckily we also
get to see the finals live - and Brian, Calum and company should know they
will have a whole world of ardent admirers cheering them on.
Jacqueline Kennedy.......
Please pass on my congratulations to Brian on his win tonight, he sang
wonderfully and has put Ireland on the Euro Map once again.
Regards. Jacqueline
Bernie, Ireland......
Brian was as good as ever tonight on Eurovision and I was able to vote for
him from NI as I watched on BBC3 instead of RTE so got codes from UK!
To see him go "Thank God" and with his wonderful mischievous smile was a
treat! Can't wait til Saturday! Bernie
Vee, Birmingham.....
Really enjoyed the Eurovision semi-final last night - Brian was
just wonderful :) I think his cheeky look during that sweeping close-up
won him a few extra votes!
Fingers crossed all goes well on saturday - be sure to pass on my best
wishes to all out in Athens Cant wait for the London gig next month
:) Regards. Veex
Laura Thomas.....
Well done BK! You were fantastic in the Semi-Final and I just know that
you'll be fantastic in the final. Wishing you all the luck in the world!
Also I have to say that your cheeky look to camera during your performance
last night was a gem! Pure class BK!
Lots of love Laura
Martina (Hamburg / Germany)........
I saw Brian on TV yesterday. Oh, what a nice man. I wish him good
luck and all the best for tomorrow. Best regards. Martina
Danielle Kelly.......
Brian you really were a class act last night! Congrats to you and all the
crew. Well done! Best of luck tomorrow...really looking forward to
seeing you perform again :)
Elaine Pittaway.....
Congratulations to you
all...... Come the night quality and professionalism shone through - with
the aid of no gimmicks, wind machines, or costumes of any sort, just a
smartly dressed singer, a very talented, supportive, guitar player, and
three excellent backing singers (two in lovely dresses and the third
looking 'the part' in black) Ireland was selected to go through to the
final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday.
On Wake Up To Wogan this morning Sir Terry was reading out some of what
his listeners had e-mailed in, in response to last night's programme. One
asked 'Was Ireland's entry ???? (I won't say exactly who the person was)'-
Sir Terry's reply was 'No that man (he didn't actually mention Brian by
name) would make ten of ????
Therefore I think it would be correct to deduce Sir Terry is a supporter
of Brian.
Brian's relief and delight, and the rest of those involved, was very
obvious when Ireland's name was read out - everything crossed for a repeat
success on Saturday night.
Marie Coffey Dublin.......
You did us proud in the semi -finals Brian. FABULOUS PERFORMANCE! Well
done to you, your backing singers, Calum and everyone involved. SO proud
of you!
Heard you on Ray Darcy's Today FM show this morning coming from Athens,
singing "The Fields of Athenry". Let's hope all the thousands of Munster
Rugby fans in Cardiff on Sat. night get texting their votes in for "Every
Song Is a Cry For Love". It could make all the difference!
I'm here waving the flag............GO BK GO!!!!
Siobhan Grant.......
Dear Brian, From everyone at
Special Olympics Ireland we would like to wish Brian the very best of luck
in the 2006 Eurovision this weekend. Hopefully we will be celebrating
with you soon. Siobhan.
Sally Lane, Birmingham
All the best for tomorrow evening. Good luck!
Reto Schumacher.......
I am Reto from Switzerland!, yesterday I voted two times for you and your
girls! I love ireland soooooooo much! I was in Dublin and Bbelfast 1996
....
I hope you will make it good next saturday! Congratulations!
Marian Martin......
After watching Brian on the Late Late Show last week. I knew his charisma
would pull it off and get him through the finals. Best of luck for
Saturday.
Bert de Bruin, Nesher, Israel......
Although I have no idea why Brian Kennedy participates in the ESC ( he is
way too good for that ) his participation made me do something that I have
never done before: I voted for an artist yesterday evening. Almost all of
the other candidates ( including the girls from Holland, where I was born
) were so bad that I thought it would be unfair not to vote for somebody
who is so talented, who has such a beautiful voice and who took the
competition really seriously by writing such a nice song.
I will vote for Mr Kennedy on Saturday night as well. If he does not end
at least in the top five that will be the final proof that today ESC
stands for EasternEurope Scratch-my-back-and-I'll-scratch-yours Circus. In
that case I think Holland, Ireland and Israel should stop wasting money
and energy on future European Songcontests.
Good luck. Bert
Norma Skeath.....
Good Morning, Brian:
You'll be representing Ireland
this weekend at the Eurovision and I sincerely want to wish you the very
best of luck. I was mesmerized listening to you singing at George Best's
funeral (on TV). I thought your notes resonated levels above us down here.
It was incredible. I'm looking forward to hearing your song on Saturday.
In any case, Brian, give
'em your best and know that the whole country is behind you.
Norma
Tammy O'Connor, Kildare......
We tuned in last evening to see Brian do Ireland proud - the backing
singers were elegant and respectfully dressed ! (unlike most of the other
acts??*!!) and I felt such pride to be Irish with Brian singing his heart
out!
WELL DONE and best of luck tomorrow night !!! We'll be on a plane going
on holiday but lots of friends are under instruction to text us the
results so when we land we will find out the result straight away !
THRILLED with the performance and SO SO proud of Brian !!
Eamonn O
Céidigh.......
Brian, congrats for
getting through to the final. Get stuck in now and win the thing!!!
Eileen
and Gerry O’Neill, Macclesfield Cheshire and formerly Belfast!......
Brian, we would
just like to wish you lots of luck with your song, when you sing at
the Eurovision Song Contest. It was wonderful to watch your
very moving contribution at the funeral of George Best. We
will be watching and cheering you on to success!! Hope to see you in
concert sometime soon. Best Wishes.
Jamie O'Connor.............
If Brian doesn't win ESC then we know it's fixed!!! My
Mother is crazy about him. All the luck in the world to him, can't
wait till June when he comes to Leicester!!!!
Rose O'Neil......
Brian we are with you all the way, unfortunately we cant be with you
in Athens, I did try and enter a competition on Today FM, but didn't
win. Good luck!
Julie Willis......
Just wishing Brian the best of luck at the Eurovision. I'm sure the
crowd will be blown away by him, as I am every time I see him
perform. My money's on him to win, not even considering anyone else.
Best wishes. Julie
Greg and Ciaran......
